Job security

Workplace safety consists of all those prevention and protection measures (technical, organizational, and procedural) that must be adopted by the employer, their collaborators (managers and supervisors), and the workers themselves. These measures aim to improve working conditions, reduce the possibility of accidents for company employees, other workers, external collaborators, and anyone present, even occasionally, within the Company. Hygiene and health protection measures must be adopted to protect workers from possible health damage from occupational diseases, as well as the general population and the environment. In Italy, health and safety at work are regulated by Legislative Decree 81/2008 and subsequent amendments and integrations. This decree, which had many historical legislative precedents (dating back to 1955 and 1956) and more recent ones (Legislative Decree 626/1994), transposes European Directives on the protection of workers' health and safety into Italian law, coordinating them into a single regulatory text that provides specific penalties for non-compliance. The omission of safety precautions results in both the employer's criminal liability and the right to compensation for damages for the subordinate worker.
